Everyone has a bundle of questions when it comes to exhibiting. A few general tips follow which should interest any exhibitor and may just be the one thing you forgot where you saw last. |

The AAPE critique service is perhaps the single most important source of information to get you up and running competetively. Put your exhibit together, send in photocopies of your pages accompanied by a critique application and for the price of those few copies and postage, you receive a personalized evaluation of your exhibit. This is the best value in the exhibiting world, bar none! |

Mounted items may attached to pages by a number of methods. Acid-free paste sticks work well when applied in reasonable amounts. Two brands are: UHU Stic (made in Germany) and Glue Stic (made by Avery and available at many local office supply stores). Testing products to ensure they meet acid-free standards is your responsibility. |

One document you should NOT be without is the APS Manual of Philatelic Judging, 5th edition, 2002, 150 pages, softbound, $12.00 retail, $9.60 member price. For judges, show committees, and exhibitors, both new and potential, this revised version of the 1997 edition discusses all of the standard exhibiting classes as well as the new Display, Cinderella and Illustrated Mail Classes, plus essays on International Exhibiting and Judging in Canada and Special Awards among others. Compiled by the APS Committee on Accreditation of National Exhibitions and Judges (CANEJ). |

Successful exhibitors study as much information as can be found on exhibit preparation. One main source of preparation information is "The Philatelic Exhibitor's Handbook, 3rd edition, 2006" by Randy L. Neil, Subway Stamp Shop. This work contains most of the information exhibitors need to put an exhibit together and has now been revised and updated by Ada M. Prill with the latest classes and practices. |
