Thomas Cook and Son, S.A. was the only private business authorized to maintain an office within the Palais des Nations. As a private entity, they were not allowed to use the special service stamps of the U.N., but Swiss stamps were accepted and the Palais post office allowed their mail to pass through the same system. As U.N. personnel traveled all over the world, Thomas Cook provided travel, communication and money exchange services for personnel at the Palais. This gem is found in Jack's exhibit "U.N.
